  • Baby powder can be used for removing oil stains. First of all blot away any excess of oil using a paper towel. Try to get away as much oil as possible. Now cover the oil stain generously with baby powder. If you do not have baby powder then you can also use salt and cornstarch. Leave for some time and then remove the baby powder from the clothing using a spoon or paper towel. While doing this be careful and do not damage any part of the clothing. Using your thumb apply small amount of water and dishwasher detergent on the stain. When the detergent begins to foam up, rub the stain in circular motion with an old toothbrush. Now wash this clothing alone with the laundry detergent. Air dry the clothing, as dryer can set the oil stain onto the clothing.
  • Dish detergent is also an effectively remedy for removing oil stains. Cover the entire oil stain with liquid dish detergent. If the detergent is colored then dilute it before using as it can stain the clothing. If the stain is stubborn then you can use toothbrush for rubbing the stain instead of hands. The detergent will dissolve instantly. Dish detergents have the special agents that absorb grease. You can use dish detergent of any brand. Now rinse the stain with water or vinegar.
